Easy Party Decorations to Make at Home

Here are 5 easy do it yourself party decorations at home:

Satin Fabric(For walls):

Sleek, cool and dreamy satin fabric rolls convey elegance and luxury. It is very beautiful when used as draping on walls & hung from the ceilings. Satin fabric can be used as accents on chairs & tables, they are also cool around windows & as backdrops.

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Attach the width of a satin fabric panel to the top of a wall using staples.

Step 2: Allow the satin fabric to hang straight down the wall to the floor. Leave an additional 3’ to 5’ of fabric and cut the remaining strip of the fabric roll.

Step 3: Gather the strip of fabric in the middle of the length and tie another small strip of satin fabric( maybe of a different color) around the bunch.

Step 4: Depending on how loose you would like the curtain to be, slowly pull fabric out of the tied bunch to create the swag-like effect.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 above with as many strips of fabric as you’d like. Stapling their widths end-to-end at the top of the wall will make the curtains look more continuous.

Step 6: Fluff the ends of the curtains on the floor so they form a slight puddle.

Confetti Dipped Balloon:

What you need;
  • Balloons
  • Gold Foil Confetti
  • Paint or Foam Brush
  • Glue or Mod Podge
If you are filling your balloons with helium, so they float, you’ll need to make sure you do not add too much confetti to the balloons or they won’t be able to float properly & stay up! It’s best to test one balloon so you can see how much confetti it can handle. But If you’re just filling the balloons with air and letting them bounce around on the floor, then the more confetti the better!

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Take your inflated balloon and paint on the decoupage glue to the bottom of it. You need a thin but even layer. You can either paint a straight line around so you have a very defined confetti “dip” or you can make the top edge of your decoupage glue area rough so it looks a little less perfect.

Step 2: Go ahead & start dipping/sprinkling your confetti on. The best way to do this is to hold a balloon over a large bowl of confetti and pick up a handful at a time and press it onto the balloon

Step 3: Shake the balloon so all the excess confetti falls off, then let it dry.

Step 4: The confetti stays onto the glued balloon area pretty well with just those steps, but for extra security, you can also add another layer of the decoupage glue overtop of your confetti and let it dry. (It will dry clear.)

Step 5: If you do this, make sure you factor the extra bit of wait from that second layer in so you don’t end up weighing down your balloons!

What you need;
  • Tissue paper sheets
  • Scissors
  • Masking tape or glue dots
  • A blank wall
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Start by cutting your tissue paper into sheets that are 20″ by 10″. Fold them accordion style, and cut one end into a rounded shape with your scissors.

Step 2: Unfold the tissue, and at the square end, gather the tissue together by crumpling it slightly. Fold a piece of masking tape around itself so that it’s double-sided, and place it on one end of the crumpled tissue paper. (You can also use large glue dots for this)

Step 3: Stick the opposite end to the other side of the masking tape so that the paper forms a flower shape. Mold the paper until you’re happy with the shape of the flower. Now make a bunch of these!

Step 4: After your flowers are all made, start placing them on the blank wall with rolled masking tape or glue dots. Decide on your pattern and continually step back to see your progress. A scattered look would also be beautiful with a solid wall full of flowers.

Miniature Easter Candy Baskets:

A-ticket, a-tasket, a mini berry basket. Put one at each seat with a name tag to take care of your d├ęcor, place settings, and party favors, quick as a bunny.

Step 4: (Optional); For one-stop decorating, dye the basket and everything inside it at once.

Candles:

Soft lighting creates an instant intimate and fun party vibe…and it hides dust bunnies and a lack of other decorations, too. Scatter candles of various heights and sizes about your space, using more lighting around tables and food areas.

Candles add such a warm glow and make everything feel instantly cozy, yet glamorous, especially at an evening party event. Aside from helping create that romantic ambiance, candles will add some much-needed uplighting.
